The nature or seriousness of an addiction may sometimes require admission to a clinic. Contact B-Free Addiction Care when clinical treatment is needed.
B-Free Addiction Care has a bespoke clinic that addresses the individual needs of everyone we treat. We provide intensive treatment programmes through a psychiatrist and Portuguese psychologists, social workers and nurses, all of whom speak English. Our experienced multidisciplinary team treats patients suffering from substance dependence, depression, anxiety and trauma. The clinic organizes group and personal therapy sessions with therapists who support your recovery process. Humility, integrity, respect, honesty and empathy are our core values. The clinic also provides support for the patient's family and loved ones.
Aftercare following discharge from the clinic is another of our priorities. Before admission, we draw up an aftercare plan based on mutual agreement.
Clinical treatment is provided by qualified Portuguese psychologists and nurses, all of whom speak English.
A doctor is available in case of emergency.
Portuguese psychologists complete six years of training. They study psychology for five years, which includes selecting a specialism, and then complete their training with a one-year internship. B-Free Addiction Care psychologists have all completed the Clinical and Health Psychology specialism requirements. This specialism is the most appropriate for the mental healthcare treatments GGZ offers. Our psychologists have completed studies that have been validated up to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). This is comparable to the level of a Master of Science. They studied at the following Portuguese universities:
• University of Coimbra
• University of Minho
Our nurses have followed a four-year programme of study. They have completed studies that have been validated up to level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). This is comparable to the level of a Bachelor of Nursing. They studied at the following Portuguese higher-education institutes:
• Coimbra School of Nursing
• Polytechnic University of Leiria, School of Health Sciences
All our employees are members of the professional association for their corresponding discipline. All B-Free Addiction Care psychologists have had their diplomas officially recognized in the Netherlands and meet the LOGO statement requirements, including having performed psychological evaluation under the supervision of a healthcare psychologist approved in the Netherlands.
Quality matters at B-Free Addiction Care. This is reflected in our requirements that all members of the treatment team keep their knowledge up to date, comply with the applicable laws and regulations and keep their patient files correctly. We perform quality assessments to ensure knowledge and experience providing quality healthcare services is shared and verify compliance with all agreements entered into.
The clinic offers its patients the option to receive family and loved ones as weekend guests at our accommodation. There are also options for supervised probationary leave (shopping, in-vivo exposure) and independent outings to a city or village nearby. In addition, interaction with family and loved ones is facilitated through video calls. Lastly, the client has the option to go home for a few days towards the end of the treatment period.
Clinical treatment is followed by outpatient aftercare. The main objective of the aftercare is mental post-addiction recovery but also reintegration into society. As a patient, you learn a lot during the clinical treatment period. How do you implement these new perspectives in your daily life? How do you prevent a relapse?
Do you want to regain control of your own life? B-Free Addiction Care has a partnership with two Dutch providers:
